The game of roulette is one of the easiest to play and understand. While the game isn't as mentally stimulating as blackjack, there is still a great deal of fun to be had. The biggest challenge is to decide where to bet.
1:1 Payout
Each section on the table is self explanatory. Betting on "1-18" will result in a win if the spin turns out with any of the numbers 1 thru 18. The same can be said about the "19-36". Betting on black or red diamond means that you will win on that color. Wagering on "Even" or "Odd" means you are looking for that color to win.
2:1 Payout
Numbers 1 thru 36 are broken up into 3 sets of 12 numbers. Below these number sets, you have a rectangular square in which a bet may be placed. 1st 12 includes the numbers 1 thru 12. 2nd 12 will include the numbers 13 thru 24. Finally, the 3rd 12 includes 25 thru 36. On the outside of the table, usually labeled "2 to 1" are the areas that break these bigger sections down into strips. These areas include every number to the left of the tab except for the zero and double zero.
8:1 Payout
The players can also bet on any cross section of 4 numbers. While the odds are not in your favor, the win is much better than betting on the above mentioned spaces. An example of this type of bet would be placing a chip on the line between 16, 17, 19 and 20.
11:1 Payout
There are only 3 areas on the table that this payout ratio will work for. The combinations include betting on the cross section: zero 1 and 2; zero, double zero, and 2; or double zero, 2 and 3. Many times when a player feels as though they are going to see the winning number turn out to be a zero or double zero, they will wager on this area instead of placing a major bet on one of the zero areas.
17:1 Payout
Areas of the table that yield this payout are between zero and double zero, and any other two numbers on the table. You can also include the zero and double zero in your line bet. While the payout is again higher than the others, but very risky.
35:1 Payout
The biggest payout area of the table is betting on a single number. This is one of the most risky wagers that a player can make. With the risk comes a very large payout.. It's up to the individual to decide if its really worth it.
There is no limit to what areas can play on. Different combinations like betting on red, 1st 12, Even, will give you very good win. Just remember that winning at roulette is nothing more than luck. Taking a chance on a single number is no different than staying safe betting Even, red
